Project Description
CDM engineered a fully contained pharmaceutical finishing suite designed to handle powders with minimal operator intervention. The system combined a Bin Lifter, Screw Conveyor/Mill, Active High Containment Valves, and a Post Blender with automated transfer to a drum pack-out station—ensuring seamless, contained processing from charging to final packaging.
Project Challenge
The client required a high-capacity finishing line where all powder handling had to occur under strict containment with zero operator exposure. This demanded a fully integrated solution for charging, milling, blending, and packing, with automated equipment alignment and valve control.
Project Solution
CDM designed a 1000L IBC Bin Lifter capable of raising, docking, and aligning with an Active High Containment Valve and compensator system. The lifter’s arm rested on a docking station to ensure precise valve alignment, while integrated controls and interlocks allowed operators to safely manage valve lock/unlock and open/close functions. After controlled transfer through a screw conveyor/mill, material was directed to a Post Blender for blending. The Post Blender then raised and slued over a drum pack-out station, completing the process entirely under containment.
Project Result
The client received a fully automated, containment-grade finishing suite that eliminated operator exposure, improved product safety, and streamlined workflow from raw material charging to final packaging. By integrating lifter, milling, blending, and packing operations, CDM delivered a turnkey system that maximized efficiency while meeting the highest pharmaceutical containment standards.
