Project Description
CDM designed and manufactured a 200 Cu-ft working capacity Double Cone Blender for a large-scale pharmaceutical powder blending application. Built to meet strict industry standards, this system ensures reliable and uniform mixing for high-volume production. What made this project unique was the integration of the CDM Dual-Post lift system, enabling the entire 200 Cu-ft blender to raise and lower from floor to ceiling. This extended range of motion provided the client with exceptional flexibility during material handling, allowing multiple downstream processes—including weighing, screening, and milling—to be performed directly under the blender. The result was a streamlined workflow that improved efficiency, minimized handling steps, and maintained cGMP compliance.  

Project Challenge
The client required a large-scale blending solution capable of handling 200 Cu-ft of pharmaceutical powder while maintaining flexibility for multiple downstream processes. Traditional fixed-position blenders limited process integration, creating inefficiencies in weighing, screening, and milling operations during loading and unloading. 

Project Solution
CDM engineered a 200 Cu-ft Double Cone Blender with a custom Dual-Post lift system, designed to raise and lower the full vessel from floor to ceiling. This innovative design allowed operators to position the blender for seamless integration with auxiliary equipment, enabling weighing, screening, and milling directly beneath the vessel while maintaining compliance with industry standards.
