Description

The Bin Lift or IBC Lift by CDM is a sanitary post lift designed to safely lift and position IBCs for efficient discharge into downstream equipment while minimizing dust in the workspace. The IBC Cradle is custom designed to accommodate any IBC for secure handling. Featuring an Allen-Bradley control system, this ensures smooth operation and precise monitoring. Built to meet cGMP standards, this equipment guarantees exceptional safety and reliability in pharmaceutical processing environments.

IBC Nest

Fabricated from 304 Stainless Steel. Centering pads allow for Bins to be placed centrally on the lifting nest every time. The low-profile design allows for easy loading/unloading of bins via standard pallet jack. All surfaces are polished to a uniform brushed finish, welds as laid, pit free and chemically cleaned.

Discharge Valve Integration

All Bin Lifts can be supplied with provisions for discharge valves, allowing seamless operation when raising vessels for discharge over downstream equipment such as tablet presses and encapsulators. The valve discharge is controlled directly through the lift’s operator panel for fully integrated operation.

Lifting Column

The Column is constructed from 304 Stainless Steel. The exterior finish is polished to a uniform brushed finish with all external welds ground smooth to match parent material. All motors, gearboxes and electrical enclosures are internal of the column.

Slue/Rotation

The column rotation is powered by a TEFC electric gearmotor, with the slue motor conveniently located at the lower rear of the column beneath a stainless steel cover. The column allows for 270° or more of rotation, with a slue angle that can be easily field programmed to suit specific operational needs.

Ball-Screw Driven

Ball-Screw drive directly coupled to an electrically driven gearmotor with a fail-safe brake. A ball bearing screw runs on lubricated free moving ball bearings. The screw and nut have matching helical grooves. As the screw or nut rotates, and the rolling balls reach the trailing end of the nut, they are recycled and returned to the leading end of the circuit. The cycle resumes and the balls recirculate continuously.

This is the safest and most efficient lifting technology available.

The Lift motor is located at the bottom of the column for easy access. Height and travel adjustments can be field programmed and easily changed. All CDM lifts feature a Safety Ball Nut Clutch. A direct engagement clutch, mounted to the lift drive ball nut. This device is designed to release the drive components if the load is lowered onto an obstruction. Reversing direction automatically re-engages the drive.

cGMP Slot Cover

The front slot on the column is sealed with our patent pending magnetic “Positive Seal Closure”. This seal utilizes a two-part magnetic stripping that forms a watertight seal with the column. As the lifting carriage moves up and down the seal continuously closes reducing the possibility of contamination.

Controls

The control system is based on an Allen-Bradley PLC platform, designed for reliable and consistent operation. Operator and Power Panels are housed in NEMA 4X stainless steel enclosures suitable for washdown and cleanroom environments. Systems can be configured with either push-button or touch-screen interfaces to meet process and user preferences.
